New York, NY: Four-time Independent Music Award-winner Rachael Sage premieres her new video for the song, "Try Try Try", partnering with critically acclaimed music publication, Blurt. The clip was also debuted live for fans at Sage's recent performance at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City on January 17, 2017.
"Try Try Try" is Sage's most recent single from her latest album Choreographic, and reached #6 on the U.S. AC Charts in 2016. A former dancer who attended The School Of American Ballet in her teens, Sage boldly blends edgy guitar-pop with classical ballet in her video for "Try Try Try", fashioning what she playfully terms "ballet-pop".
Tapping into her dance background, Sage continues to gain many fans via Lifetime TV's #1 reality series, Dance Moms. She has appeared on the show and 20 of her songs have been featured on the series over the past four seasons. The show's breakout celebrity, Maddie Ziegler (star of Sia's MTV award-winning videos), has regularly danced to Sage's music, including the song 'Happiness', which Sage wrote specifically for Ziegler.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker/photographer Tom Moore, "Try Try Try" features an original pas de deux created by renowned choreographer Sarah O'Gleby (The Oscars, Tony Awards, Ted 2) and performed by ballerina Abigail Simon(American Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet) and dancer/actor Marty Lawson(Smash, Movin' Out, Shrek The Musical). Sage also appears in the vibrant, highly stylized video alongside members of her live band, The Sequins.
Additional behind the scenes content was also filmed with the team and performers. The first clip features choreographer O'Gleby working with the dancers, rehearsing and refining the beautifully performed pieces as well as incorporating the dancers into the scenes. Part two focuses more on Rachael, the band and the crew - bringing the viewer on set and wrapping up the colorful, creative process.
Sage hopes that dancers and non-dancers alike will enjoy her latest video for one reason above all:
"This is a song about that moment where you decide to throw all your plans out the window and commit to the unexpected. It's about embracing love when every fiber in your being is telling you to protect yourself and run - and I think we can all use a bit of that sentiment right now!"
Over the course of her career, Sage has steadily built a loyal grassroots fan base with a rigorous international tour schedule, which prompted Performing Songwriter Magazine to name her "One of the Top 100 Independent Artists Of The Past 15 Years".
This winter/spring, Sage heads out on the road to open for Grammy-nominated blues rocker Beth Hart in February and March. Shortly afterwards, she'll be in the UK supporting synth-pop pioneer Howard Jones and will play Britain's LeeStock Festival.
Rachael Sage is available for in-person, phone, or email interviews. Press considerations are much appreciated. If you wish to attend any of the shows or would like to request a copy of Choreographic, please email: email@example.com
