Rachael Sage To Premiere "Big Star" Music VideoMPress Records artist Rachael Sage will release her brand new music video for her next single "Big Star," Monday, July 19th at 10:00 AM on www.RachaelSage.com. Sage will also celebrate the video release at a special performance at Genghis Cohen (Los Angeles, CA) where everyone at the show will receive a FREE download of the music video before you can get it on iTunes! The song was written years ago, but was never officially released. Then, when Sage's friend Semi Precious Weapons singer Justin Tranter became Lady Gaga's favorite glam-punk frontman, she gave the song new life. Inspired by Justin's recent success, Sage re-recorded the song adding more depth and her signature electric piano riffs. "Big Star" appears on her current album, "Delancey Street". The video features giant stars, hula hoops, balloons, laughs, a keytar-wielding Rachael Sage and NYC! Filmed in various locations all over NYC including The Bowery, The Lower East Side, Soho, Times Square and Williamsburg, "Big Star" showcases a great cast of performers and DIY artists all looking for their big star moment. "Big Star" was directed and co-produced by Award-Winning filmmaker Tom Moore, who also directed Sage's prior music video "Wildflower" (from the album "The Blistering Sun"). Moore, who is an accomplished photographer, has captured such high profile subjects as William Dafoe, Bebe Neuwirth, Gloria Gaynor, Levon Helm, Quentin Crisp, and Ed Asner. He recently created imagery for Rachael's new album "Delancey Street", as well as MPress Records artist Seth Glier's current album, "The Trouble With People". Says Sage: "Tom is a really gifted art director and has done photography for several of my albums...he just has the 'eye'." It was important to Sage to include her own real-life DIY artist peers in the project, so all of the characters in the video are actors, dancers and musicians who in one way or another have impressed her with "a healthy dose of wild ambition." |
